Sometimes mold behind baseboards may be more than just moisture from the floor. It unfortunately can be a sign of a roof leak. How can mold and moisture behind baseboards be a sign of a roof leak? What happens is that the leak from the roof travels to the ceiling and then down the walls and behind baseboards.

When choosing a home Inspector to investigate, it is a good idea that the Home Inspector you choose is trained in thermal imaging and is equipped with a moisture meter. Sometimes just visually looking at the areas doesn't show where the moisture is coming from.
